I have had the opportunity to oversee Vanesa’s work since January 2021 when she began her internship at The Children’s Campaign as a Communication Protégé Apprentice. Over time, I grew to have a close relationship with Vanesa as a supervisor and mentor, and was able to witness tremendous growth, both personally and professionally. Vanesa brings a unique skillset to her work. With a background in writing and performing original music, she is extremely creative and approaches her assignments through an artistic lens. Over time, Vanesa has developed a strong eye for graphic design, which has greatly impacted our social media engagement and has helped brand our organization, and our affiliate organization, Voices for Florida, as thought leaders. Vanesa is passionate about marketing and is always looking for ways to enhance our work with the latest trends. In addition to content creation, Vanesa is responsible for collecting and analyzing social media metrics on a weekly and monthly basis. Vanesa presents these findings to her supervisors on a regular basis and makes thoughtful recommendations to adapt content based on the data. These adjustments have helped our organizations gain more followers and ensure that the message output is relevant and meaningful. Vanesa boasts strong critical thinking skills and is able to adapt each piece of content she creates to fit the branding of the appropriate organization. Vanesa is passionate about creating social change and took the time to research our two organizations’ unique approaches to this work to truly understand our mission.
