Working with a big digital media company on their CMS and tooling around it. The main challenge about this gig was the vast diversity of technologies that different sites of this media company use, and the need to eventually consolidate all of them into a single and constantly evolving CMS.The most interesting part about this gig is me leading a small team doing the migration of a few big sites to this CMS, collaborating with the stakeholders in identifying missing features and implementing them in the CMS, and migrating big amounts of data from the old databases to new ones, transforming it on the fly. Two of the sites have 6 million visitors per month. These migrations motivated the development of a tool (in Python and Django) to help with migrating databases that I mostly lead and executed. Worked on a big and important online education service. The most interesting things I've done:1) Was responsible for migrating an important internal project from Python2 to Python32) Was responsible for migrating local developer environments to AWS (had to work with a great deal of AWS services throughout that)4) Implemented new payment options (a lot of Stripe integration-related work)5) Improved time-tracking features of that platform, and migrated a lot of its old backbone.js UI to React.js, as well as writing new features and expanding the platform with new technologies, such as GraphQL, for example6) Got my first experience as a team lead - leading a small team of around 5 people during the time when the main team lead was away Show less

Most interesting part: Python 3.5, Django, TDD with pytest (coverage ~80%), a lots of web-scraping with requests, BeautifulSoup and selenium. DB is PostgreSQL with tables of ~30 millions rows and growing continuously, stored procedures and JSONB-fields. While working on project there was contributions in django-debug-toolbar.
