Valerija did both her undergrad studies as well as MSc Behavioural Finance in the School of Economics and Finance at Queen Mary University of London. MSc Behavioural Finance is one of the more selective and challenging MSc programmes in our school. The distinguishing features of the curriculum are two behavioural modules—one in Behavioural Economics and one in Behavioural Finance. Other than that, the curriculum is closely aligned with that of MSc Finance. During Valerija’s undergrad studies, I was her academic advisor and I also taught her a module in microeconomics. During her master’s studies, I was the programme director for MSc Behavioural Finance, I taught her two of the core modules in that programme, and I was her dissertation supervisor. As a result, I feel I know Valerija quite well. Valerija is a smart person with a sharp mind. In particular, I have been impressed by her ability to ask a sharp question or to make a succinct comment that goes to the heart of the matter. Valerija is also a serious student. Over the years, she has consulted with me on many aspects of her studies, revealing her commitment to her studies. During her MSc studies, she showed a keen interest in behavioural economics and behavioural finance. An example: I was pleasantly surprised to run into her at an academic conference on behavioural finance held on-campus. She was attending out of her own initiative. Let me say a few words about Valerija’s performance. During her undergrad studies, Valerija was in the top 35% in a cohort of more than 200 students. She completed her MSc studies with an upper 2.1. It is harder to compare her to her classmates in the MSc programme because there were only seven students in her cohort. (MSc Behavioural Finance was just being introduced and was anyway meant to be a small programme). Overall, I am happy to recommend Valerija. She is likely to be a valuable employee in your organisation.

It’s rare to come across so enthusiastic and creative person like Valerija. I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Valerija for almost 2 years, during which she was a marketing and sales intern within my department. Above all, I was impressed with Valerijas’s ability to learn quickly and develop client relationships from scratch. And, of course, her desire to put the client first. Valerija would be a true asset for any positions requiring natural curiosity and problem solving skills and comes with my highest recommendation.
