I approve invoices, coordinate events, contribute to reports for our donors, and track progress of awardees. I rely on my Flight Instructor background to further develop program and offer individualized guidance to scholarship recipients. I have instructed a variety of courses across Wings Over the Rockies: a weekly private pilot ground school course for high school students; aeronautical knowledge classes for teachers studying their Basic Ground Instructor Certification; an accelerated ground school course for scholarship awardees; the Introduction to Ground School class for students under fourteen; and pilot oriented camps for middle school groups.

These camps educated campers (ages 8 to 12) about aviation and aerospace. Themes changed weekly, ranging from aviation history to space exploration. Counselors learned how to use rendering and CAD software. We also operated a variety of equipment: UAVs, vacuum chambers, heat guns, etc.

Working at McAir allowed me to learn the procedures of a Part 141 flight training program, including the use of online course tracking applications. They had a modern fleet of S model Cessna 172s (Nav II & III). I focused on student pilots, mostly high school aged. This was a budget conscious group, so we flew the Nav II aircraft with Bendix/King Avionics. In addition to routine instruction, I staffed two aviation youth outreach events, provided discovery flights, and created content for an online lecture. During performance reviews and at monthly team meetings, I shared mistakes and concerns to support a positive safety culture. Show less
