• Lead maintenance of permanent field recording stations through regular checks of electrical equipment, data storage devices, and regular cleaning of sensors. Followed detail protocol to install multiple temperature sensors in streambeds. • Lead at 10 person team for water quality sampling, algae sampling, and stream discharge measurements in the field. • Wet lab manager: Maintained laboratory equipment performance by establishing quality standards; developed operation and troubleshooting procedures; arranged equipment replacement, service, and repair. Organized and maintained stock of chemicals and lab materials. Created SOPs for two water quality analysis techniques. • Used advanced data analysis techniques to created thoughtful graphs for various newspapers and public outreach pamphlets. Took extra care to create graphs that portrayed our scientific findings precisely. • Provided scientifically backed water conservation related comments to the Gallatin County Zoning Commission during the re-zoning of Big Sky, Montana.

CCE-LTER - Guest member of the Ohman Lab, aided in the processes of collecting and preserving plankton during the NSF funded CCE-LTER Cruise (California Coast Ecosystem - Long Term Ecological Research). Assisted with the recovering/deployment and monitoring of bongo nets, MOCNESS net, sea soar, MVP (moving vessel profiler), and CTD. Helped with various plankton nets and processing. Worked an almost continuous 72 hours with short naps.

NREIP Intern

Year 2: Used 3D printing for rapid prototyping to create a rough model of a mechanical ocean. Investigated bathymetry's impact on ocean currents using matlab and data from GODAE. Year 1: Worked with software-defined radios for radio frequency collection and analysis with MATLAB software tools. Additionally, performed system reliability simulation and analysis with MS Excel to estimate system Mean Time Before Failure (MTBF) for a communications system. Lastly determined power quality disturbances optically by collecting and analyzing light sources from buildings and facilities. This lead to a paper in which I am the second author on, it was recently submitted to SPIE Photonics conference. I programmed and utilized MATLAB tools for the investigation.
