Other duties: -Management of laboratory stores and sterile services facility including line-management of six members of laboratory support staff. -Routine maintenance, administration of service and repair of laboratory equipment, -Sourcing/purchasing items of laboratory equipment and consumables. -Negotiating with suppliers for provision of consumables and stores items -Provision to staff and students of safety induction training and other safety related training. -Writing and maintaining SOPs, risk assessments, H&S policy. -Performing monthly safety checks on safety cabinets, PPE etc. -Assisting the Laboratory Manager and Safety Committee Chair in performing periodic laboratory inspections. -Management of ACDP Category 2 virus lab facility. -Cover for the Laboratory Manager in estates management functions, for contract service work and liaison with UCL Estates and emergency planning/crisis management. -Member of the Covid-19 Emergency Safety Committee Show less
