To Whom It May Concern: Over the course of the past semester (Fall 2020), I have had the privilege of being Valentina’s UNIV 110B: The First Year Experience professor here at Coastal Carolina University (CCU). Throughout this time, Valentina has exhibited a number of commendable qualities while demonstrating every day the type of intelligent, mature, and unique person she is. First and foremost, I believe Valentina is a very genuine and kind-hearted person. She was always willing to answer questions asked in class and help another student who was having technology difficulties. She knows who she is, and she is not afraid to be this person at all times. She is humble, pragmatic, down-to-earth, creative, and ambitious; she pays attention to what matters, and is always open to constructive feedback. Valentina is a dedicated, caring student; who goes above and beyond to find an answer to a problem. At first, Valentina was unsure of her major and what career path she wanted to pursue. But with her own exploration, Valentina took it upon herself to research various majors and careers that would suit her the best. She even interviewed someone in her potential career field to have a better understanding of what it takes to be successful in the career. It is wonderful to see a student with such passion for her learning environment. She constantly went above and beyond with all of her assignments and projects throughout the semester. Not only did Valentina bring in 15-credits of transfer coursework which she completed in high school, but she also successfully passed two advanced placement (AP) courses. As a Management major with a concentration in Human Resource Management and a double minor in Creative Writing and Spanish here at CCU, Valentina welcomes the opportunity to learn something new. When COVID-19 caused an interruption in the typical structure of the semester, Valentina elected to take all of her classes online. Typically online classes are more of a challenge for students, but not for Valentina! She had to be extremely organized and diligent with her courses to avoid missing any deadlines. In fact, when her internet went down on the day she was scheduled to present her final capstone project, she figured out a way to get internet and present her final project in class. Valentina saw the challenge at hand and used her critical thinking skills to find a solution instead of using a lack of internet as an excuse why her project was not completed. As a result of this, Valentina earned herself not only an A in my course, but in all of her courses to achieve a 4.0 GPA! Valentina’s personality and work ethic will transfer well into her next step in life. I believe Valentina is ready for the next step in her career and is ready to accept the many challenges and opportunities that will be presented to her in the future. I know she is anxiously awaiting the challenges of life throughout her remaining years at CCU and afterwards, and is ready to meet
