Horizon GrandPrix is an international educational program for high-school students who as team develop their own hydroden fuel cell RC car. At the end of this four month program all students compete in endurance races on the national and then international level. Over the five years we've been able to brought up almost 500 teams of young engineers over the world. Involved in project: Influence of working medium on construction materials used in the steam/water cycle of the energy units. Research activity was focused on corrosion behavior of steels and its resistance in hot water, steam or supercritical water environment. Laboratory work mainly consisted of surface analysis of oxide scales (metallography, Raman, SEM/EDS) and electrochemical techniques in order to determine qualitative properties.
