Ruta Abraham

Jo Ann is an exceptional, brilliant, courageous, and natural-born leader! She leads with integrity, honesty, humility, and clear focus. We joined TransForm around the same time, and I watched her change the organization into a transparent, equitable, and inclusive org where everyone's voice is heard and valued. She stirred the culture from a hierarchy system into shared leadership by empowering and coaching people to step in a leadership role. Her ability to show empathy and care created a safe space for people to be themselves. She cultivates competence and confidence in individuals to reach their goals. She used the strength finder assessment to identify the team's strengths to maximize productivity and increase morale. It was a privilege to work with her.

Usa Lee's leadership at TransForm enabled my colleagues and me to amplify our impact. She helped us clarify our strengths and learn to uncover talents we had underutilized, and I even saw her do this with her supervisors. Rather than shy away from challenging situations, she engaged in them. She brought together teams that had difficulties cooperating by tapping into common interests and moving us toward shared objectives. She knew when partnering with others or stepping back was more effective, and she could do the operational work when needed to set an example. It was a privilege to witness this again and again!
