The topic of my PhD project deals with the role of coagulation, extracellular vesicles and immune surveillance in pancreatic cancer metastasis. The project looked into the complex interplay between extracellular vesicles and their pro-coagulant abilities in the context of pancreatic cancer metastasis. I have gained expertise in numerous branches of the broadly classified fields such as molecular-biology, immunology, genetics, protein-biochemistry and thrombosis. Project Title: The role of altered tumor cell surface glycosylation in organ (lung) specific metastasis’. Focus: Investigate the role of the glycoprotein CD147 and the associated complex glycosylation in regulating key steps of metastasis. Techniques: Biochemical, molecular and cell biological techniques like SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, designing primer and shRNA sequences and cell culture. Assisted in generating knockdown mutants by lentiviral transduction and its characterisation for further functional assays. Show less
