  As a Directors' Asst. (the director's right-hand person) the areas I have worked essentially involved taking the film from concept (pre) to screen (post). Being the screenplay Editor gave me a clear preview into the Director's brain. So co-ordinating between all depts. and HODs was like working on my own film.
