Tax Advisor

Mar 2018 - Mar 2021
Key responsibilities- I managed the personal tax affairs of hundreds of company directors and sole traders and carried out high-level compliance work for them, such as preparing self-assessments and computations associated with various types of capital gains, assessing residence status, etc.- Using a proactive and tailored approach, I provided tax planning advice to clients whenever possible. I also used my client service skills to resolve complaints and had built strong client relationships, such that I received the most 2017/18 5* Trustpilot reviews in our SJD team. - With the knowledge and attention-to-detail I developed through my role and ATT studies, I was entrusted with reviewing and assisting with the compliance work of colleagues.- Played a key role in staff training, including delivering several income tax related presentations, compiling guides that assisted in the completion of over 2,500 2018-19 Brian Alfred (BA) tax returns, assigning weekly tax calculations to juniors and mentoring new starters.- Collaborated with management to take on high-level work, such as attending meetings with our BA finance team to discuss and implement processes that minimised our bad debt with clients and agreeing upon the optimal ways to train staff.- Liaised with HMRC to resolve client enquiries, write appeals letters, and research technical tax matters. I also consolidated my knowledge by checking the Legislation, HMRC’s manuals, etc. Key achievements- I came second in the April 2019 company VIP awards following nominations from my managers after the high-performance levels shown, training staff thoroughly and conducting management level duties in the BA 2018-19 season. I was subsequently awarded a promotion in November 2019. - Received Trustpilot review of the month in October 2018, which is given for the best client feedback that is selected by our Optionis Executive Team.

Trade Plus Service Assistant

Jul 2017 - Mar 2018
- Retail role dedicated to building strong relationships with trade customers and processing their orders. - I collaborated with the Screwfix team to identify and then brand tradespeople over to the Trade Plus department of the store. This created added value for these customers by giving them access to exclusive services. These included discounted prices on trade products, quotations for larger orders, the Trade UK credit facility that could be used at any Screwfix store and the product knowledge of the Trade Plus staff. - I also worked with my team to both amend and implement our Trade Plus business plan, which helped our site to achieve record weekly sales on three separate occasions, the highest being over £23,000.

Van Sales Executive

Oct 2015 - Feb 2017
- Sold Mercedes-Benz vans to businesses of varying sizes, entities and from different sectors. - I prospected businesses through targeted online research and cold calling. - Arranged test drives and appointments with company directors and sole traders. Here I qualified the needs of their business, and then proposed suitable vehicle and funding solutions to them.- I transacted numerous lucrative deals, and in the process, developed strong negotiation skills.- I took responsibility for any post-sales issues my customers faced, for example by collaborating with the service department to ensure vehicles were properly maintained. I had to be highly organised when managing my customer base while continuing to sell to new prospects.- Using a customer-focused and personable approach I was able to conquest several key accounts and attain referral business. - Achieved my target for the second half of 2016 by selling and registering 34 new vehicles, and hence contributed to our Oxford team hitting their annual target.- Other duties included: performing yard checks to list all stock vehicles on site, working with colleagues to deliver new vans, attending professional sales training courses at the Mercedes-Benz UK Head Office and performing used vehicle appraisals.
