Hospital Midwife (Band 6)
-
Jan 2013 - Present
My currant place of work over the last 5 years where I have been able to continue working on a rotational basis throughout the maternity department. From my above key skills and responsibilities, it is clear that I am a well-rounded and confident midwife able to work independently in all maternity settings. I manage the antenatal and postnatal wards on a regular basis, I communicate effectively with all of the multidisciplinary team as well as women and their families. I work on the maternity triage, speaking to expectant mothers over the phone and providing care and organizing future care. I am a sign off mentor assessing and providing teaching and support to them throughout their training in a clinical environment. I have gained further confidence in my suturing skills. Show less

Hospital Midwife (Band 5 / 6)
-
Sep 2004 - Oct 2011
This is the hospital I trained at for 18 months prior to qualifying and then continued to work post qualification. I did my first-year preceptorship here to gain my band 6, gaining valuable experience working in a very busy women only hospital, one of only two in England providing care and conducing around 9000 births per year. I rotated from Delivery suite to antenatal, Postnatal wards and community setting. As a band 6 midwife I was regularly in charge of running the postnatal ward on a shift. Allocating staff and managing the running of the ward. I regularly rotated to the main delivery suite. Show less
