I am a faculty of English teaching English as a second language in schools and colleges since 1985. I am an avid reader of fiction. I have a flair for composing poems in English and Tamil. I know to read Hindi a little. I enjoy drawing and painting and have ventured painting scenes for my poetry collection. My passion for English keeps me exploring BBC, VOA and other language resource portals. I have been learning courses through online learning portals. I have done courses in the free mode in Coursera and Futurelearn and I am currently doing a course in NPTEL and Futurelearn. Some of the courses I have done are Teaching with MOODLE (run by MOODLE HQ), Tell Your Story (Oregon State University), Online Learning: Learning and Collaborating (University of Leeds), Understanding IELTS (British Council), Enhancing Soft skills and personality (NPTEL), partially completed (for want of time) courses are: The Holocaust: An Introduction (I)Nazi Germany: Ideology [offered jointly by Tel Aviv University and Yad Vashem], The Holocaust:The Destruction of European Jewry [an adaptation of an on-campus course that has been co-taught by Murray Baumgarten, Distinguished Professor of English and Comparative Literature (Literature Department), and Peter Kenez, Professor Emeritus (History Department), for over 20 years at UC Santa Cruz. ], Online Learning: Reflecting and Recording (University of Leeds), How to read a novel (University of Edinburgh) and I have currently enrolled on a few courses like Teaching for Success: The classroom and the world-starting on 4 Dec 2017 [British Council] and pondering over another choice on Coursera 'Creative Writing'.
