The main result of this work was Iyulú, an educational software authoring tool whose main ideas evolved to become CREATE Together in year 2000, a software tool to produce educational software for CD, intranets and e-learning on the Web. CREATE Together is now published and owned by Bytes of Learning Incorporated, a Canadian company based in Toronto. Dr. Agüero directed more than 50 graduate thesis at ITCR in areas such as educational software for learning disabilities, educational games, mathematical models for collaboration and group decision-making, network design, educational software for learning disabilities, curriculum-based educational software, e-learning, e-government, ICT strategic planning, collaboration technologies and platforms, and group decision-making software, particularly with emphasis on Web technologies.   As Project Director at CREADISA (A Costa Rican software development company, partially owned by Dr. Agüero), he directed the development of VirtualMeetings, a product to support group decision-making on networks. VirtualMeetings is based on Dr. Agüero’s own Theory of Plausibility. VirtualMeetings was a finalist in the 1993 Windows World Open contest. He also directed the development of OOCM (Object Oriented Collaboration Management), a client/server platform to support collaborative authoring on TCP/IP networks, including the Internet (1993-1995). As a continuation of his academic work at ITCR, Dr. Agüero also directed, at CREADISA, in association with Bytes of Learning Incorporated (Canadian), the development of CREATE Together (1996-2001). CREATE Together is the result of more than ten years of R&D in association with Costa Rican universities. CREATE Together, now published internationally by Bytes of Learning, is an innovative educational authoring tool to develop educational software for CD an e-learning on the Internet. Show less
