As a Delivery Manager I’ve been playing a “CTO” role of the internal startup. I’m in charge of: • Creation and implementation of the Delivery Strategy which encompasses the main aspects of the project development: Business, Delivery, People, Finances. • Hiring and leading cross-functional development team distributed in 5 locations (±25 people). - conducted dozens of interviews to find people for key positions (Architect, Product Manger, TL, QA Lead, etc.), grow the team from 15 to ±25 ppl; contributed to creation of a generic interview approach. - fixed cross-team communications/collaboration issue, which resulted in significant decrease of consumers' complaints. - made organizational decisions to optimize delivery and focus teams, what speeded up an overall product development. • Leading major technical discovery activities and technical roadmap • Product vision (both business and technical). - managing a technology roadmap, defining milestones and success criteria, resource allocation in a very turbulent initiative. - introduced a launch plan for a very early release of the product to avoid waterfall-like product engineering, which resulted in earlier feedback and transparent expectations. • Establishment of agile delivery processes from scratch. - introduced agile processes from scratch in two cross-functional teams, coached team members to take over facilitation role, introduced data-driven approaches of status tracking, evangelized product mindset. All the above resulted in increased transparency and higher satisfaction of supervisors/stakeholders. • Facilitating teams and growing leaders. - Helped Lead Dev to step into the Delivery Manager role - Helped BA to become a fully independent Product Owner. - Helped team members to take shared Scrum Master role.
