Was able to utilise customer service skills to talk to on the phone - required to collect relevant COVID-19 information whilst making the patient comfortable, calls often lasted 30 minutes to over an hour. Gained skills in collecting large volumes of information and recording it correctly within the IT system. Gained experience in correctly navigating a prepared script provided by NHS Scotland to readily help and provide patients with relevant information. Team Leader role: Gained experience in managing a team of people and utilising communication skills to successfully ensure calls were being carried out correctly. Compliance Officer role: Gained experience in overseeing other colleagues’ work to pick up any errors made, and help correct them before final information was sent to NHS Scotland. Again, utilised communication skills with other colleagues to help improve their work and ensure it complied with NHS standards.
