Web Automation Consultant Team Leader
-
Mar 2019 - Present
Worked with Aviation’s cloud automation team to design and vet legacy web application transformation solutions. Worked multiple POCs using fully managed services like ECS Fargate and Azure OpenShift (ARO) along with other custom or internally developed and hosted solutionsDeveloped a standardized set of containers using a multi-stage design allowing for quick plug and play of desired Java and Jboss versions for both the code build and run stage. Tested these containers, with little modification, in various hosting environmentsIdentified and addressed, through design and process, major scope requirements and limitations to address: architectural security improvements and maintenance of relative status quo for legacy application teams skills and duties. Worked to prevent scope creep that have sunk past transformation projects including: a desire to address out of date platform versions and extending the transformation to database or other enabling technologiesCreated a containerized Apache 2.4 web server to act as a reverse proxy with OpenIDC enabled or as a pure Apache solution to un-encode and parse a JWT provided by AWS ALBs for consumption by legacy applicationsLead team of four to massively drive down annual costs of existing legacy web environments by introducing and using Splunk and other tools to determine application usage, eliminate waste in non-production environments, canvassing of app owners and users, correcting mistakes in billing and consolidation and modernizing hosting infrastructureContinued to work with Aviation Web Operations team as a subject matter expert

Lead Solution Architect
-
May 2013 - Jun 2014
Chosen to lead the Sogeti Solution Architects for the newly formed (at the time) Energy Management P&L. As the lead solution architect it was necessary to continue to excel in the functions of a solution architect as well as take on the responsibilities of the leader of a small team. Also worked directly with the GE Solution Architects and their manager to improve or create processes that fit Energy Management's new reality. Some notable projects: Implementation of Windchill PLM: Designed an infrastructure solution for this large effort that included a new product and the consolidation of three existing PLM systems into it. This effort spanned 12+ locations in nearly as many countries. BCM: Call center upgrades in Hungary, China and the United States. This project stretched Tyson into new areas of knowledge.
