I worked with Tyson on two AAA projects at Obsidian. He approached everything from major, game-changing features to smaller updates with an emphasis on the player experience. While his own designs were strong on their own, he was consistently open to suggestions and feedback; always ready to examine and explain underlying principles of a design. When development got tough, Tyson would check in with co-workers; not only to make sure designs were understood, but frequently to check on people's personal health and well being. His mindfulness for his co-workers as well as his receptivity to feedback made him a fantastic colleague that I hope to work with again.

Tyson was simply outstanding to work with. He was easily the most technically skilled level designer, was the most reliable, and he commanded respect from all other members of the team. He remained rock solid through production focusing on level construction, scripting, bug fixing, and polishing, with exceptional attention to detail and time management - he was always ready to move forward where other designers were struggling to keep up with our projects tough demands. Tyson is a natural leader with the technical skills and experience to hit any project and excel. I would recommend Tyson for any project, and would jump at the chance to work with him again, no question.
