I created Ty-pology in 2020 to streamline my longtime work as a copywriter and copy editor. To date, I've secured contracts with cultural institutions large and small—including the Speed Art Museum (Kentucky), the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art (Arizona), Richard Beavers Gallery (NYC)—and entities including Streamlined Media, LLC and the National Birth Equity Collaborative. In 2021, I conducted archival research and developed the most updated existing chronology about Beauford Delaney for the exhibition “Be Your Wonderful Self: The Portraits of Beauford Delaney.” The show was later declared the New York Times Critic’s Pick by Roberta Smith, the Times' co-chief art critic. Currently, I am working with artist estates and archives in Washington D.C., New York, Paris, and Brussels to create a chronology about Black abstract sculptor Harold Cousins for a forthcoming exhibition. Through Ty-pology—the editorial agency I created to streamline my freelance editing work—I copy edited the catalog for the 2021 exhibition "Promise, Witness, Remembrance" in honor of Breonna Taylor at the Speed Art Museum. Currently in print, the 200 page catalog included essays and interviews from curators, community partners, and Breonna's family about the impact of her life and the conceptual process for the exhibition.
