Internship at NuScale Power included work that supported the Design Certification Application to the Nuclear Regulatory Committee for NuScale's small modular reactor design. Major projects included: Designing a Python automation script for calculating all volume and structure geometries of the reactor and writing them into thermal hydraulic code inputs for any nodalization. Calculated out tables of boron solubility to determine acceptance criteria of core coolant temperatures. Calculated fuel temperature response in the even of a rod ejection accident and prompt critical power spiked to determine acceptable margins of cladding and fuel temperature.
