As a conservation organization, ACTU works to support Trout Unlimited’s vision of ensuring that robust populations of native and wild Coldwater fish will once again thrive within the Southern District, so future generations can enjoy healthy fisheries in their home waters. However, we also promote educational activities such as “Trout in the Classroom”, hosting regular fishing outings and working with local and state agencies as well as regional environmental organizations to plan and implement conservation programs. Our local improvement projects have included: Conewago Creek, Conococheague Creek, Marsh Creek, Mountain Creek, Latimore Creek and Opossum Creek. As a Trustee Board Member, I assist with budget allocation to fund projects that benefit stream restoration and events for local youth. I attend monthly meetings to plan upcoming conferences and events. I am responsible for recruiting new younger members and strengthening relationships with local benefactors.
