Duties and responsibilities: Reviewing the work performed by team members to ensure technical compliance with both accounting and auditing standards; Assisting client management with queries relating to the preparation of financial statements or technical accounting knowledge; Managing the overall running of various audit, financial statement and other non-assurance engagements; Managing staff, engagement budgets, work-in-progress, and fees recoverable from clients; Reporting to Engagement Partner as appropriate; Mentoring staff members of various levels throughout their training contract period (helping them to outline their development and performance plans, tracking their progress towards achieving theirgoals, as well as providing bi-annual reviews and performance feedback); and Assisting in the development of the division’s annual strategic objectives (as part of the division’s management team).I also had the opportunity to go on two international secondments: 2-month secondment to PwC in Prague, Czech Republic from January to February 2015; and 3-month secondment to PwC in Atlanta, Georgia (in the United States of America) from January to March 2014, where I was part of the team auditing a client that was in the process of listing on theSecurities Exchange Commission (SEC).The success of these assignments further demonstrated my ability to acclimate and flourish in an environment to which I, to a certain extent, was unacquainted.
