  My responsibilities as a Policy Assistant included collaborating across multiple state agencies and private or public organizations to pursue and implement the Governor's priorities. I support and worked closely with the Governor's policy, legislative, operations, budget, communications, and senior leadership teams. I advised senior leadership on select policy issues and operational initiatives, conduct research, and assemble reports to guide key decision-making by policy advisors and senior staff. During the legislative session, I tracked various bills and brief the Governor and senior staff on those policies and recommend the passage of each particular bill. I have had the ability to lead multiple internal process improvement projects as well as assist in COVID-19 state-wide response and recovery.

• Legislative Intern

  As a Legislative Intern for the Governor's Office, I monitored Legislature committee meetings, caucuses, and floor sessions for the Governor Ducey's Directors of Legislative Affairs and policy advisors, collaborated with interns and senior staff to develop bill folders for the Governor’s bill briefings, and established a method of organization through the utilization of google drive and google documents to increase productivity among our intern group. Additionally, I communicated with team members to ensure the completion of daily administrative responsibilities by updating policy advisors on the schedule of legislative committees and distributing of daily news and legislative reports. Near the end of my internship, I focused my efforts alongside Governor Ducey's policy and legislative team on COVID-19 related policy topics.
