Conducting independent research centered on the issues of food security, access to food, access to seed, seed sovereignty, nutrition. I also research on agrarian alternatives and rural livelihoods. I have gained applied experience in designing implementing and monitoring interventions targeted at capacity development, local participation and governance of natural resources in association with several NGOs in India. My key research interests are on Intellectual Property Rights over bio-resources such as seeds; access to seeds; seed-exchange networks; sustainable models for benefit sharing; technology transfer to rural areas and natural resource management. I have strong skills in qualitative data collection, analysis, evaluation and reporting of data. As a researcher, I have conducted baseline studies on seed conservation and food security and have presented the results at different forums: conferences and workshops.
