At Kingfisher, digital transformation programmes are bringing multiple technologies together to create distinctive and differentiated offerings to customers and colleagues. I was appointed to build the software engineering capability for the UK digital channel. From the outset, my goal was to lead the implementation of a technical framework that was service based, deployed industry leading technologies and wrapped in an agile delivery framework. The capability that I created has enabled empowerment, control, and a product focused view of it’s digital channel. First and foremost, the team I lead are providing users with a convenient way to shop online, as well as operating a tight and efficient development function. I was accountable for the delivery of eCommerce applications, responsibilities include:• Delivering projects within agreed time and cost, whilst ensuring a high quality is met. Specifically: o Facilitation of project kick-offs. o Extrapolation and translation of business requirements. o Leading cross-functional teams through the delivery process. o Act as a communication proxy amongst the team to ensure everyone is kept up to date. o Lead technical planning, sprint reviews and retrospectives. o Act as a team advocate in helping to remove impediments to allow the team to thrive and deliver. o Articulate complex technical situations into concepts that are understood to enable decisions to be made.• Have an oversight of the end-to-end delivery of all development initiatives. I led the delivery of technology solutions for a range of client partnerships, product launches, and internal digital engagement tools e.g. Sitecore. As team lead I had end-to-end view of all delivery, frequently monitoring all activity ensuring that it supported the business strategy and revenue targets. As part of my role I ran my own projects, always ensuring that I led by example. One of my highest profile projects was the successful launch of the UK partnership rights with Manchester United Football Club. I led the delivery of the 'Manchester United Insurance' technology solution along with marketing campaigns that appealed to the target consumer (Manchester United fans).

As a digital project manager for client projects; it was my responsibility to deliver solutions on-time, within budget, whilst delivering business benefits set out in the business case/brief. My knowledge and interest for internet technologies meant that the clients that I worked with, were clients who either wanted a web-presence, or were looking to develop and implement solutions that took their presence, engagement, and conversions to the next level. Initially joining Capgemini on the Graduate Technology Programme, I was immediately immersed on client sites and working on a major transformation programmes. The two-year graduate programme provided opportunity, first-class training and a structured framework to become a well rounded technology professional. As part of the technology consulting division, I was exposed to a plethora of assignments, delivering a range of projects and programmes across a range of public and sector clients. Below is a summary of key roles held (in chronological order): Junior Developer Summary: Fresh out of University, I was part of a development team that continually designed and developed bespoke parts of the clients application. Scrum Master Summary: As a SCRUM Master for a bespoke software development project, it was my responsibility to manage the planning and delivery of development sprints in accordance agile development methodology. Agile & Project Support Summary: With my previous experience of agile software development, I was asked to join a project team that was developing bespoke software to support the utilisation of SCRUM and the spirit of Agile software development. The size and complexity of the development meant that I also provided the required generic project support to the engagement manager.
