My role as an intern in the Diversion Unit included working directly under probation counselors where they helped me learn how to facilitate meetings with youth and their families to discuss the ramifications of their offense and conditions to complete diversion. I also reviewed reports and assigned recommendations for the neighborhood accountability board members, reviewed and organized diversion contracts and scheduling letters for correspondents, and filed and delivered cases.
