It's rare that you encounter an outstanding talent like Troy. I had the pleasure of studying with Troy for a year at Fanshawe College and working on several class assignments. I was particularly impressed with Troy's ability to effortlessly handle even the toughest questions. The skills he possesses often take time to develop, it seemed natural to him. If you need a team leader or team motivator, Troy is a win for every team. It's rare that you encounter an outstanding talent like Troy. Fanshawe College’s Search Engine Marketing program offers the opportunity to a small selected group of students to work with a non-for-profit organization throughout the world in the development of their presence with Search Engine Marketing. This opportunity is a worldwide competition where various schools compete to create the highest level of success (in terms of SEM) in just 30-days for their non-for-profit. During the winter of 2019 semester, I was assigned Impact Skateboarding Club, a non-profit organization that focuses on youth development accessibility in Toronto. With the use of AdWord strategies such as refinement of keywords, the creation of new ads, generating a/b testing of these ads, and traffic tracking, Impact Skateboarding Club experienced a 21,000% increase in ad impressions with a 6.11% CTR and an average CPC of $1.42. This competition required a complete reboot of Impact Skateboard’s AdWord campaigns, in-depth analysis of the campaign’s, application of the analysis’ results, and a final post-campaign presentation for the client.

As a participant of OCMC, my partner and I were required to read, analyze, and develop a solution for the case study provided to myself in a 30-minute time-limit. In this time, my partner and I were to identify the problem, provide a situation analysis matrix, determine the objectives of the business within the case study and present alternatives. We then were required to recommend our preferred alternative, create an implementation plan and present all findings during the 30-minute time span. This competition allowed me to exercise my creative thinking, work under time restraints, and present the marketing plan in front of numerous judges.
