Tristan never stood back from a challenge and tackled every task with enthusiasm, always delivering much more than expected. He asked questions when unsure about how to continue with a task, but worked autonomously for the most part, even in unfamiliar knowledge areas. I observed him many times tackling a problem with a mathematical analysis first, and this provided a solid foundation to solving the problem. He was always willing to learn and operate outside of his comfort zone. He demonstrated the ability to investigate innovative solutions instead of opting for the most apparent one. I look forward to seeing what Tristan achieves after his studies.
