Geo-Environmental Engineer

Feb 2005 - Feb 2006
Reporting to the regional manager, I was responsible for the project management of geo-environmental and geotechnical investigations from inception to completion. Tasks included carrying out desk studies, devising suitable scopes of work, liaising with regulatory bodies, organising subcontractors, overseeing site operations and compiling factual and interpretive reports inclusive of human health and controlled water risk assessments. My main project was Lichfield Basin. The site was historically a former canal basin which was infilled and used by larchlap for the manufacturing of fence panels. The site was purchased by Woodford Land with a view to redevelop into a waterside residential development. Working closely with British Waterways, the former canal basin was reinstated and waterside apartment blocks constructed. The work I carried out included desk study, intrusive ground investigation, human health and controlled waters risk assessment using published guideline values, geotechnical appraisal and compilation of a remediation strategy.
