I managed Trina while she was a Technical Product Manager Intern at Alexa AI, where she owned the product strategy for a tool used to rapidly patch user experience issues. This tool is expected to launch in Fall 2023. Trina was able to quickly grasp a complex, fast-evolving problem space (involving Generative AI / LLMs) to make meaningful contributions to the team. One of Trina’s key strength is her ability to rapidly establish positive stakeholder relationships, whether with software developers, applied scientists, product managers, or technical project managers. She built trust by asking thoughtful questions, understanding the landscape of technical constraints, and incorporating feedback to her product ideas. With this, she set realistic but aspirational goals for the product; prioritized product features to ensure scalability; and outlined a metrics monitoring strategy to ensure that the team could continue to improve the product beyond her time at Amazon. Trina delivered work on time and to a high standard, communicating progress and raising blockers well in advance. She fostered a collaborative environment, which was greatly appreciated on our team this summer.

I had the pleasure of working with Trina for several months at Course Hero, and I’m so grateful we crossed paths. I found Trina excelled in three areas in particular: she’s highly skilled in marketplace science, she’s a great collaborator, and she’s extremely dependable. Course Hero’s marketplace is very complex, involving different subjects, users all over the world using the platform at the same time, and much more. Trina consistently uncovered valuable insights and guided my team through opportunities for greater impact. In particular, she improved our understanding of how to form experiments in cleaner ways, and also of the network relationship between the journey of a single question, the tutors that see it, and the effect that has on other questions in the marketplace. On top of her great skill set, Trina is a top-notch collaborator. She communicates well in team meetings, she’s clear, methodical, and open to diverse views when talking through tricky challenges, and she expertly handles real-time collaboration during launches. Finally, Trina is extremely dependable. Especially in this past year when everyone has been working remotely, I always had the confidence that Trina would come through in crunch time. And she did! Above all, Trina is a warm, kind human being. She brings a great spirit to any team she works on. I’d be thrilled to work with Trina again one day!
