I worked as a Paramedic for PRO EMS, a very busy private EMS department, with an average call volume of 60000 total responds per year over a fleet of 16 ambulances. PRO EMS provide 911 and IFT coverage for multiple large urban and suburban areas in the Greater Boston Area. PRO EMS requires all cases to be reviewed by a Harvard Medical School attending emergency medicine physician and thus requires our patient care to be top notch. PRO EMS requires all cases to be reviewed by a Harvard Medical School attending emergency medicine physician and thus requires our patient care to be top notch. PRO EMS utilizes the Paramedic- EMT Basic model where I, as a Paramedic, often managed acutely ill patients as the only Advanced Life Support provider. This allowed me to grow exponentially as a medical provider as many important aspects of patient care such as establishing and investigating differential diagnoses, intravenous access, medications administration, cardiac monitor electrotherapy, advanced airway management, providing pain and sedative medication depended solely on my performance as a paramedic. In collaboration with my EMT-B partner, we have successfully managed acute cases such as CHF exacerbation, third degree atrioventricular block, ST- Elevation Myocardial Infarction, hypoxic apneic opoid overdose, head on motor vehicles collision, vehicle rollovers, ... My further responsibilities included: - Timely and accurately determine and proceed with the appropriate advanced life support management plan for patients in medical emergencies. - Have the ability to clearly and adequately communicate with other first responders on the emergency scene in order to produce the best care for our patients. - Have the ability to clearly communicate, in great details, the patient's report with the receiving hospital emergency department staff during transfer of patient care. - To produce accurate, detailed and clear note of all assessment and procedures performed for the patient. - To precept and train EMT and Paramedic students during their clinical rotations. As a community advisor, I was responsible for over 50 residents of my residential hall. I worked hard in creating a fun, inclusive and diverse community within my residential floor. I frequently organized events that are educational, such as CPR & AED training, and fun such as "SuperBowl watch party" for my residents. Furthermore, I also provided mentorship and advises regarding academic, social and relationship issues as well as directing my residents to professional help should that be needed.
