Employed by the CEO to develop the farming operations and production system into a core competence from which to expand and lead the supply sector in Australia initially and throughout the Mitr Phol Group. My mandate was to inject strategic leadership into the Executive Leadership Team as the company digested exponential growth and adjusted to the new ownership regime. Key Achievements:• The evolution of MSF Sugar into a significant proactive player in the Australian Sugar Industry. (Market Cap $40M to $700M within 6 years), from 1 milling site to 4, annual revenue from $42M to $270M and from ASX listed to foreign owned publicly unlisted entities. The systems and commercial aspects of finance, management, IT, corporate risk & compliance, HR and WH&S were rebuilt multiple times during this phase of rapid growth and change. • Developed an Agronomy Service from start-up at 4 separate locations spanning 1700km. This team became highly respected within the research community. • Developed MSF Sugar farming business into Australia’s largest sugarcane business. This involved the development of a collection of single-family farms to create a $200m asset portfolio highly attractive to investment funds. Managed as 3 separate farm business units. Total workforce of 90. Operating budget of $20 million. Geographically dispersed across Qld. • The Mitr Phol Production System of mechanized cane growing in China, Thailand and Laos was fully adopted by key growers within each region. Significant local ownership, leadership and support structures established.

As a junior member of the departmental Leadership Team I worked on strategic projects aimed at continuous improvement of the company’s cane supply and transport function. This role was primarily focused on management of the grower relations within a designated Mill region (crop forecasts, supply quality, agronomic advice) and the cane supply logistics and safety culture of cane railway operations. Concurrently I managed the pastoral operations including a 3000head cattle herd run over 20,000ha. By year 2, I was leading the cane supply logistics and safety culture of the cane railway operations of Invicta Mill. At the time, this site was expanding from 9500 to 24,000 tonnes cane per day.
