      • Aug 2016 - Present

As a teacher, my role is to create unique and diverse lesson plans that will reach and impact students from all backgrounds. If I had to give my teaching a "style", I would say it would be story telling. I enjoy telling unique stories about individuals and events in U.S. History that will peak my student's interests and draw them in to the material. I enjoy telling unique stories about individuals and events in U.S. History that will peak my student's interests and draw them in to the material. I use an appropriate blend of technology, writing, critical thinking, and creativity in my teaching of 8th graders.I have also coached a DI team where I led a group of students to complete a project where they would discover a need in the community, fill that need, and create/perform their very own unique skit that would show what they were able to accomplish. I currently coach a UIL team where the event is Impromptu Speaking. Here I will help 6th, 7th, and 8th graders become better improvisational speakers to the point where they are given a topic, are able to spend a minute or two preparing, and will deliver intriguing speeches about said topic.
