Scott Metals, Inc. is a general fabrication shop dealing mostly with sheet metal and structural shapes. Many of our customers contract us out to fabricate industrial duct, platforms, and pipe racks, although we do build many other types of things too. My main responsibility is to draw or detail new and existing drawings for our fitters and welders to use in the process of production. Some of my other responsibilities are to quote potential projects, determine & purchase materials, and solve any issues that may occur during production. I really enjoy my job, mostly because of the constant change in my day-to-day schedule. Most of my time is spent in front of the computer on one of many programs we use to manage our projects. I also spend a considerable amount of time in the shop doing general inspections, meeting with clients, advising our fabricators, and traveling to contracted shops. Show less
