While starting the IV for the radioactive tracer I would be screening and collecting a patient history of medications and whether patient was NPO for 4-6 hours. Imaging would start with the resting phase first, then the patient would enter the stress lab. Physical or pharmaceutical stress testing would be determined by a nurse practitioner or Cardiologist on site. I would inject the patient in the stress lab at the appropriate moment. Imaging the stress acquisition usually 1 hour later. The two sets of imagines would be processed and filmed for the interpretive cardiologist.I would inform the supervising cardiologist of any positive MPI defects as I processed and detected them. Additionally if I visualized any abnormal lymph node or breast uptake of sestamibi I would notify the supervising cardiologists, to the possibility of metastatic disease. The documentation and handling of all log books, health physics material was my responsibility. Additionally Provided Coronary CTA's and various vascular CTA's on a 16 slice GE CT light speed. CTA's as Carotids,COW,Renals,Runoffs.and Coronary CTA's on beta blockers. The CT's were offered every week day and I fit the patients in.
