As the international program specialist, I reach out to all prospective international students and respond to their inquiries, as well as inform them on what they need in order to register for their program of study, track their progress, create and issue their I-20's, officially admit new students into the school, and facilitate arrival arrangements. Once students are admitted, I also maintain their documents and make sure that students maintain a current, active, and legal status within the country. Furthermore, I am to serve as the liaison between the visa-holding students and their insurance provider. Occasionally, I will assist students with traveling to events throughout Alabama. Finally, it is my responsibility to stay updated on Alabama Community College System (ACCS) policies, as well as Student Exchange and Visitor Program (SEVP) guidelines. Show less
