My work in the laboratory of Dr. Melody Swartz focuses on studying VEGFR-3 stimulation on lymphatic endothelial cells (LECs) that may alter the inflammatory response, specifically with how LECs mediate this through direct interactions with various immune cells. Demonstrated that CXCR3 blocking both in vivo reduced immunotherapy efficacy in lymphangiogenic tumors, which contributed to a submitted manuscript draft Collaborated with the laboratory of Dr. Jeffrey Hubbell to characterize the enhanced T cell response due to treatment with their collagen-binding cytokines for cancer therapy Show less

In the laboratory of Dr. Pin Wang, I cloned a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) that targets over 80% of HIV strains Demonstrated killing activity of HIV CAR T cells through co-culture assays with target cells Optimized transduction of HIV CAR constructs by using a retrovirus producing cell line Created an anti-mesothelioma CAR-NK cell line using retrovirus and demonstrated enhanced cytotoxicity of these cells compared to normal NK-92 cells 3X Provost Research Fellowship Recipient. Demonstrated efficacy of integrin agonist drug in combination with a-CTLA-4 and a-PD-L1 in vivo with colorectal cancer, which resulted in a publication in JCI Analyzed levels of T cells in blood, tumor site, and spleen to elucidate the effectiveness of the integrin agonist treatment combinations against B16 melanoma Demonstrated efficacy of integrin agonist drug in combination with a-CTLA-4 and a-PD-L1 in vivo with colorectal cancer, which resulted in a publication in JCI Analyzed levels of T cells in blood, tumor site, and spleen to elucidate the effectiveness of the integrin agonist treatment combinations against B16 melanoma
