    • Student Observer
      • Jan 2017 - May 2017

As a part of my undergraduate coursework, I was required to go out and observe coaching in any setting of my choice in order to gain experience using sport pedagogy. My experience was gained at Lake Travis High School with the boys athletic department. I was able to learn under Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Hank Carter and his staff. During my semester at Lake Travis, I was able to be apart of the football offseason program as well as spring football practices with both the varsity and junior varsity teams. Starting off as an observer, I was gradually given the opportunity to step in and coach as well. Being able to be in the high school athletics scene and use coaching skills that I have learned from the University of Texas football staff as well as the Lake Travis staff was a great experience to help prepare for my career as a teacher/coach.
