• Collaborated with body building companies, customers and sales team to design standardized layouts and components that significantly reduced the amount of modifications that body builders would need to make on existing chassis. These “Wrench” chassis have nearly 40% less service claims associated with them than the average standardized “Non-Wrench” chassis • Worked with the body building companies to identify parts that were normally installed by the body companies that could be installed by Autocar to decrease aftermarket build time. Organized these parts in BOMs that matched the Autocar standards and worked with planning and purchasing teams to add these components into our production schedule. • Seamlessly integrated typical body builder manufacturing tasks into existing chassis and cab manufacturing lines without increasing standard tac times by creating step by step installation guides and running hands on training with production workers.• Traveled to body builders to document issues they encountered with Autocar chassis as well as observed their manufacturing process to find areas that could be streamlined with better integrated components. Took these observations and designed better components in NX modeling software and converted these components into engineering drawings so that they could be manufactured • Converted information gathered by the field service team into comparable data between integrated and non-integrated chassis that could be used by the sales team to market the “Wrench” program and the increased reliability associated with the program to potential customers.
