  Working with the owner, James Del Vecchio, on residential remodels for private clients. This job taught me to take pride in my work and do things correctly the first time, even if it takes more effort or time, because doing it right is always faster and more rewarding than doing it twice. Learned all the stages of the remodeling process, beginning with the consultation with the client to get an idea of what they were looking for in the end result. Then on to the designing keeping the building codes in mind while still trying to deliver as many of the clients requests as possible. Making an estimating for all of the labor and materials and sending a quote to the client for approval before starting the work. We then performed a fair amount of the demolition, framing, plumbing, electrical, insulating, tiling, drywall, and painting ourselves but we also worked closely with numerous subcontractors who specialized in those fields. Finishing the jobs and showing the results to the clients was always my favorite stage. Show less
