  Performed qualitative and quantitative analyses of reactor coolant water, steam generator water, feed and condensate water, and all grades of make-up water. Experience included the use of various methods of corrective chemistry as well as collection of data and trend analysis to preclude out-of-specification conditions. Performed surveys for alpha, beta, gamma, and neutron radiation. Obtained proficiency with the use of radiation detectors. Implemented local radiation control limits and maintained personnel dose assessment records. Was selected from a division of 23 sailors as the Leading ELT.   As a student, I qualified Machinist Mate aboard the MTS-626 and was selected as a Junior Staff Instructor. As an instructor, I trained students on operating and maintaining mechanical systems in support of nuclear power plants. I demonstrated a detailed knowledge of all reactor, steam plant, electrical generation, and auxiliary equipment. I worked extensively with steam turbines, heat exchangers, turbine generators, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, main engine, reduction gears, valves, lube oil systems, pumps, distilling plants, and air conditioning systems.
