Responsible for the Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH)/Nutrition Program; under the authority of the Peace Corps Country Director, I am responsible for the translation of requests from the Government of Mali (GoM) into viable WASH projects, as well as to other projects and sectors linked to community development. I supervise and coordinate the projects under my program to ensure the appropriateness and high quality of Volunteer assistance to the host communities and organizations that they serve. In so doing, I serve as liaison with Ministries of the Malian Government as well as with other national and international NGOs. Some of my duties and responsibilities in the role of Program Director include: • exploring new areas of and opportunities based on GoM needs and development goals; • reviewing and evaluating requests from communities; • writing Projects Plans as well as Position Descriptions; • selecting appropriate skills profile of prospective volunteers to be recruited; • researching and writing sections of the Peace Corps/Mali Annual Strategic Plan; • assembling and providing statistics and data for preparation of budgets; • monitoring and evaluating the impacts of the Project as a whole; • Maintain project records including Malian government and volunteer reports, related technical and administrative reports, reports of site visits, and writing and distributing regular project reports to all relevant stakeholders.
