The Police and Crisis Team (PACT) Constable is responsible to act as a liaison between the Saskatoon Crisis Intervention Services, Saskatoon Health District, the community and the police.The goal of PACT includes proactive intervention with persons who are subject of immediate mental health intervention or chronic complaints to the Saskatoon Police Service, Saskatoon Crisis, and the Saskatoon Health Region. I worked mostly on the Women's unit at the Regional Psychiatric Centre acting solely as security personnel. There were multiple times during my duties that I was called upon to mediate issues between inmates as well as making attempts to talk them out of volatile situations. I was also a member of the female Cell Extraction Team (CET) which acted similarly to what an Emergency Response Team would during emergent situations but the CET dealt specifically with the female population in the facility.
