I prepared a fun and lively curriculum that taught children music by singing, games, dancing, and using hand percussion instruments. Music is a powerful teaching tool. Through music, children of all ages, can build great memory skills that will help them all their lives. Musical games are also a fun way to learn to share and cooperate with others. It can also evoke great emotions, happy, loving, lively, sympathy, and humor. Learning music is a wonderful way to help everyone feel better. I loved teaching the 3 and 4 year olds so much! They were always so happy to see me. I would have a predictable routine (which helps children feel comfortable) , but would also add some fun and interesting things every session for balance and to help keep their interest. It was always the highlight of my week to share time with these precious children. Show less

I taught children music through games, and movement. I used different instruments to help motivate and keep things interesting, allowing the pupils to all have a turn at trying different sounds and rhythms, giving them a foundation of theory to support them in percussion and in sight reading. My curriculum was centered around connecting the children (K to grade 4) and giving them a sense of community, by teaching them beautiful songs that they enjoyed and teaching them harmony, so they could see how team work even applies to music. I also taught them relaxation and stress release through movement and meditation. Show less
