Traci is quite the advocate! Traci sees a need and puts her everything into it. I've always been very impressed. She is GREAT to have as a partner.

The Refresh Conference is founded BY women and is FOR women. Our desire is to facilitate a conference that brings refreshing to the hearts of women who are walking this worthy and weighty journey of orphan care. It all began in 2012 when local adoptive mom Traci Weldie was stirred to see a foster/adoptive conference in the Upstate and invited her foster and adoptive mom friend, Tammy Carlisle, to help her make this dream a reality. Our first conference was in January 2013 and we prayed that SOMEONE would show up - we were thrilled to have 20 women in attendance! Now we are expecting over 240 women to join us in February 2020 for our seventh annual conference! Refresh is a faith-based conference designed for: • women considering opening their home to children • foster moms • adoptive moms • GAL’s/social workers/etc. • kinship caregivers • ministry leaders We understand firsthand that this journey can feel difficult and lonely. Our desire is for you to feel connected and reminded that you are NOT alone! The Refresh Conference is a time for you to be refreshed, encouraged and inspired by like-minded women who understand your journey. We love this quote by C.S. Lewis, “Friendship is born at the moment when one person says to another, ‘What! You too? I thought I was the only one.’” At Refresh Conference, you will experience inspiring and challenging keynote speakers, relevant and practical breakout sessions, and sweet fellowship with other women who can relate with your unique lifestyle. Our mission is to provide a Christ-like, loving family to every child God entrusts to us. First Baptist Church Simpsonville desires to build teams within our membership to address each need identified. These teams will facilitate the partnering of the talents and resources of the church family with the needs of the communities, children and families (be that foster children, foster parents and/or biological parents or children who may be at risk of entering foster care). We also desire to work hand-in-hand with Ethiopia and Mexico to assist them in implementing a safety net in their communities. Show less

Partnered with Safe Families for Children (national) to develop Safe Families for Children in Wisconsin.
