• Lead Graphic Designer for Flyers at Murdoch's Ranch & Home Supply Retail

  Lead graphic designer for retail flyers at Murdoch's Ranch & Home Supply. From 2003-2016, I also Project Managed Murdoch's flyers. After that, the Flyer Project Management was handed over to one of Murdoch's full-time marketing Project Managers. I am responsible for Murdoch's annual retail flyers (15) and I assist with other projects whenever my time allows. My tasks/deadlines are housed in Workfront. All product information is currently input by the purchasers and housed in Murdoch's database. I proof the purchasers product input for accuracy and completion. I gather product images and vector-based logos for seasonal and brand new products. I clip, group, and link them to the database (averaging 125+ per flyer) before exporting. This database is utilized by all designers for their product oriented design pieces. I regularly make sure that our proofing system and flyer database are as consistent as possible. After export, I make all the raw adjustments on the 8 pg flyers,16 pg flyers and Dink Sheets. I divide the flyer pages to begin design and share design with an assisting designer on the 8 pg and 16 page flyers only. This helps keep the final visual product even more visually interesting. I initiate all flyer proofs on Workfront for the allotted times necessary. It's then my job to design and prepare print support materials, proof them, share them with a second set of eyes, and send them off to an outside printer for production/shipment to all retail locations. I closely proof flyers and share any required adjustments with all valid teams to assure accuracy across the board. If the current flyer project manager ever needs assistance, I am capable of contacting our necessary partners to keep them apprised of due dates, quantities and store specific plate changes requested by our buying team and events directed by marketing.
