Establishing the Young Professional Group for Chartered Accountants on the Gold Coast has been challenging, but very rewarding. As a chartered accountant I believe it is so important that we are engaged with our professional body and ensure they are providing the best support and services they can for the members. The Young Professionals Group has had is challenges as a new group, but by listening to members we are progressing to having a very strong following and delivering events that are relevant to young members. My roles as chair of the Committee has been: - Set agendas for and run regular meetings - Recruit new members for the committee - Attend and speak at events about the chartered accountants - MC our events - Implement a succession plan for the committee As part of this succession plan I will step down as chair at the end of the 2014 calendar year, but will still sit on the committee to assist the members and new chair to keep developing the group.
