A varied role which includes managing all financial aspects of the business as well as contributing to operations and HR. This role has proved very enjoyable and challenging. Reporting to the General Manager and also the Board for specific projects this role has developed my ability to communicate with the multiple stakeholders in the business. The most enjoyable part is working with the members and committees to see their needs and hopes for the club develop and setting the club in a secure financial position for the future. Show less

Working in Findex has given me the opportunity to work closely with many different business. Assisting these business through the COVID19 pandemic has been challenging and rewarding and being able to assist businesses with future proofing themselves has given me the opportunity to add real value and strengthen client relationships. Taking on other roles in the virtual CFO space, review of financial and accounting systems and implementation of new systems with clients has also given me the opportunity to focus on not just compliance, but developing long term improvements for businesses. Working at MWM has been a very fulfilling experience. Being able to step back into a hands on role in preparation of accounting and taxation work has allowed me to further develop these skills, keep up to date with changing legislation and the impact it has on day to day accounting and work closely with a smaller client set. This has further increased my desire to work one-on-one with small businesses and helping owners grow their business. While working at MWM I have also had the opportunity to work with the Data Analytics team delivering software, system and process solutions. This role has been crucial in further developing my skills in understanding clients needs and providing solutions tailored to their business and goals. Show less

Establishing the Young Professional Group for Chartered Accountants on the Gold Coast has been challenging, but very rewarding. As a chartered accountant I believe it is so important that we are engaged with our professional body and ensure they are providing the best support and services they can for the members. The Young Professionals Group has had is challenges as a new group, but by listening to members we are progressing to having a very strong following and delivering events that are relevant to young members. My roles as chair of the Committee has been: - Set agendas for and run regular meetings - Recruit new members for the committee - Attend and speak at events about the chartered accountants - MC our events - Implement a succession plan for the committee As part of this succession plan I will step down as chair at the end of the 2014 calendar year, but will still sit on the committee to assist the members and new chair to keep developing the group.
