  • Morpeth Stobhillgate First School
    • Morpeth, England, United Kingdom
    • Classroom Teacher
      • Sep 2006 - Aug 2019

Former classroom teacher at Morpeth Stobhillgate First School in Northumberland which is a one form entry mixed school from 3- 9 year olds. During my employment with this school, from September 2006 until August 2019, I gained experience working in the following key stages. I spent eight years working within Foundation Stage classes including promotion to Early Years Coordinator where I helped to develop the Outdoor and Indoor Learning Environments into creative and inspiring spaces to learn. I was able to work well with different agencies who were monitoring and supporting various pupils and families within Foundation Stage classes. To develop my experience working across the school I moved into Lower Key Stage Two classes for five years. During this period, I also communicated well with Key Stage One staff to help support certain lower ability pupils within my class in order to develop their learning according to their differing abilities or SEN requirements. During the period from September 2018 to August 2019, I became a member of the Extended Leadership Team for Morpeth Stobhillgate First School, where I was given the responsibility to develop Pedagogy and Curriculum across the whole school, ensuring continuity, equal opportunity for access to learning, peer coaching, reflection periods and feedback sessions for pupils. I was also given curriculum responsibilities for the following areas of Geography, History, Foreign Languages and the Evolve system. For Geography and History I was able to implement a new enquiry based curriculum across the whole school. To enable children to access different extra curricular activities, I ran a weekly Key Stage Two Netball Club as well as offering an Introduction to French lunchtime club for Key Stage One children.
