Tracey was my student in the school of Information Systems and Technology at Kaplan University, specifically in the Networking Security course I teach there (course IT484); this was for a period of ten weeks during the term starting in March 2011. This course focuses on how to implement a defense in depth strategy to protect network assets by evaluating threats and vulnerabilities and implementing effective countermeasures. I observed and evaluated Tracey’s work through his interactions in the virtual classroom, during weekly synchronous online seminars, through weekly assignments and through four major networking security hands-on projects. Tracey impressed me with his quality work in this multidimensional course; Tracey’s work consistently included a highly developed analysis and displayed superior value-adding content. Also, his deliverables demonstrated excellent organization and his communication was always logical and unified. Now, a clear compliment to Tracey’s achievements in this course was a strong recognition by his peers (this course promoted team work and interactions across teams) for his leadership initiatives when the class tackled the hands-on projects. As expected, Tracey obtained an excellent score in this course and I am very pleased to write this endorsement for him. I expect Tracey to continue to be very successful in all of his professional endeavors.
